The 1st Annual HAPPI Hours launch event was a huge success for the Robin Shari Parker HAPPI Foundation and a flavor explosion that couldn't be found in just one restaurant. Our 2017 HAPPI Hours was celebrated on Thursday, March 30th at the incredible Allied Kitchen & Bath Showroom located at 3484 NE 12th Avenue, Oakland Park, FL.
Guests savored a variety of culinary treats created by three of South Florida’s all-star chefs. Chef Robyn Almodovar, winner of Food Network's Chopped and Cut Throat Kitchen and All-Star of FOX's Hell's Kitchen, Chef Anthony Billisi of world-famous Mimi's Ravioli, and award-winning chef and owner of 180º at the DRB, Chef Ryan Martin. Guests enjoyed delicious wines, craft beers, and incredible spirits to complement each specialty dish. Scrumptious desserts, music, and incredible raffle prizes rounded out the evening. Funds raised at our delicious launch event provided allowed us to support a scholarship for a future speech-language pathologist.

For more information contact us at info@rsphappi.org.Chef Robyn Almodovar, graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, has mastered her culinary skills at several highly respected South Florida restaurants including The Forge and Danny Devito's Devito South Beach as well as being casted for FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen Season 10, finishing as a Top Finalist. In 2011, with enough courage and tenacity to strike out on her own, Almodovar purchased a 24’ food truck and founded “Palate Party”, a fresh, mobile food café that utilizes only locally, sustainably sourced ingredients. Palate Party was the first female-owned, non-dessert food truck in South Florida. In 2013 Miami New Times voted Palate Party Best Food Truck in Miami as well as 3rd Best Food Truck in South Florida by Sun Sentinel. In the fall of 2014 Almodovar was selected as the Miami Food Truck Expert guest judge for 3 episodes on the new Food Network series Food Truck Face Off. Again, loving the competition and excitement of culinary battles, in July and August of 2015, Chef Robyn Almodovar competed and won both of the Food Network’s CHOPPED and Cut Throat Kitchen. Chef Anthony Billisi of Mimi's Ravioli was born in Brooklyn, New York raised in South Florida , growing up in family business cooking was second nature , while playing professional baseball in Italy is where he had hands on experience with authentic Italian cooking and pastries, for fun he would help out in local restaurant and pastry shops learning and practice his culinary skills that have been instilled in him since he was a child. Anthony was also a finalist on TLC with Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss, for the Next Great Baker.
Ryan Martin is Chef at 180 at The DRB. 180 degrees is a gastropub in the purest sense of the term, simple food performed with skillful execution and presentation. Their motto is gastronomy redefined, using ingredients from around the world and practicing an array of techniques and culinary tools including sous vide, dehydration, smoking and molecular gastronomy. You are not just eating, you are having a culinary experience, down to one of the over 150 craft beers you can order with your food, which have been handpicked by the chef himself to pair with your meal.
What better way is there to raise funds and shop for the holidays? For the past two years, the Footprints Boutique in Plantation has hosted a special event in support of the Robin Shari Parker HAPPI Foundation donating a percentage of all purchases. Mimi's Ravioli donated their delicious Italian samplings for guests to enjoy while they shopped, sipped, and mingled. Special thanks to Footprints Boutique and Mimi's Ravioli for their never-ending support and a delightful evening of shopping, fundraising, and culinary treats.
